Brake pads make all the difference
Brake pads transfer the force from your hand to the brake.
If they are too thin or glazed, braking performance is significantly reduced.
Typical signs:

What the damper really does
The shock absorber keeps the wheel on the ground.
Not only does it provide suspension, it also stabilises the entire chassis.
If it is worn out or incorrectly adjusted,
- the rear end bounces
- the wheel loses grip
- and the handling becomes unstable
A functioning damper provides directional stability and a significantly more stable driving experience.
